印度棉農(nóng)堅(jiān)持提高出口限制

　　大量來(lái)自索拉什特拉的棉花種植者集結(jié)起來(lái)反對(duì)政府上周提出的棉花出口政策。即使在今年棉花產(chǎn)量預(yù)計(jì)很高的情況下，政府依舊把2010-11年度棉花的出口限額定在550萬(wàn)包。

　　哈瑪古吉拉特農(nóng)業(yè)棉花生產(chǎn)公司(MGACPC)在夏斯特里邁丹召開(kāi)大會(huì)的時(shí)候，農(nóng)民呼吁提高棉花出口限額到1000萬(wàn)包。棉花種植者們認(rèn)為，出口政策專門(mén)用于支持少數(shù)紡織廠。

　　據(jù)一位MGACPC官員講，棉花總產(chǎn)預(yù)計(jì)將觸及3500萬(wàn)包記錄的目標(biāo)。古吉拉特一家預(yù)計(jì)生產(chǎn)1300至1500萬(wàn)包棉花。在這種情況下，運(yùn)輸550萬(wàn)包棉花將降低本地市場(chǎng)的棉花價(jià)格。一方面紡織工廠將以較低的價(jià)格購(gòu)買，另一方面棉農(nóng)將承擔(dān)這種局勢(shì)的痛苦。他說(shuō)，今年由于大雨，巴基斯坦和中國(guó)的棉花產(chǎn)量將減少。因此，印度棉花種植者能夠通過(guò)棉花出口真正賺一筆。他進(jìn)一步補(bǔ)充說(shuō)，如果政府不能滿足他們的要求，棉農(nóng)抗議行動(dòng)將加強(qiáng)。

　　Cotton growers insist on raising export limit

　　A large number of cotton growers from Saurashtra had assembled to oppose the government’s cotton export policy last week. The Centre has set a limit of 5.5 million bales for exports of cotton in 2010-11 even when a very high cotton production is anticipated this year.

　　The farmers urged for raising the export limit of cotton to 10 million bales during the rally convened by the Maha Gujarat Agri Cotton Produce Company (MGACPC) at Shastri Maidan. The cotton growers were of the view that the export policy has been specially designed to support a few textile mills.

　　According to a MGACPC official, total cotton production is anticipated to touch the record target of 35 million bales. Gujarat alone is expected to produce 13 to 15 million bales of cotton. In such a situation, shipping 5.5 million bales of cotton will lower the cotton prices in the local market. Textile factories, on one hand, will be acquiring cotton at lower prices and on the other hand, cotton growers will be suffering from this situation.He said that, countries like Pakistan and China will be producing less cotton this year owing to the heavy rains. So the Indian cotton growers can really earn a lot through cotton exports. He further added that the cotton farmers will strengthen their protest if the government does not meet their demands.
