? ? The Kenyan government is committed to revitalizing the domestic cotton industry. On the one hand, specific measures include the construction of additional ginning plants and oil extraction plants. For example, the newly equipped embossing machine has a daily processing capacity of 3780 tons. In addition, local ginning plants that had previously closed down may be reopened with the implementation of the revitalization plan. On the other hand, relevant technical training will be provided to cotton farmers to increase production and income.

In recent ten years, Kenya's cotton industry has been in a downturn, many cheap or second-hand clothing from other countries flooded the whole market, resulting in the domestic cotton prices plummeted and continued to fall. After the government lifted the cotton seed import ban, Kisumu and homabay in the West imported 12 tons of cottonseed, 480KG of high-grade cottonseed and 140 kg of high-grade insect resistant cotton seed, which may be of great benefit to the restoration of cotton industry.
