The labor Advisory Council (LAC) held the last meeting on the morning of 20 to finalize the minimum wage for next year, chaired by Labour minister yehssen.

As a result, the conference decided to vote on the new minimum wage standard next year, with a majority of votes supporting $187. Later, Premier Chancellor decided to increase 3 US dollars. Therefore, the minimum wage will reach US $190 next year.

The new minimum wage standard will be implemented from January 1, 2020.

In 2020, the minimum wage reached $190, an increase of $8 compared to $182 in 2019.

The wages of workers rose year after year.

Since 2000, the government has established a three party negotiation mechanism to discuss the basic salary of workers. By 2019, workers had been paid 14 times, from $30 per month to $182 in 2019. Especially since 2013, the low salary of workers has been like a roller coaster, and the growth rate is fast.

In other Southeast Asian countries, such as China, Laos and other countries, the wages of workers are much lower. Vietnam and Indonesia are basically the same as Kampuchea.

However, the growth rate of workers' wages is not directly proportional to production efficiency. Besides, workers often fainted. Bosses not only need to bear medical expenses, but may also have to bear the risk of failing to deliver.

In addition to basic salaries, the government has issued a series of social security and welfare policies, which has put pressure on bosses in Cambodia factories.

Earlier, because of low labor costs and profitability advantages, wages are rising year by year, and freight and export costs are higher than those of neighbouring countries. Therefore, many investors are considering transferring factories to Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries.
