Driven by foreign market demand, Italy in the 3 quarter of 2014

Orders are showing growth.

"Italy manufacturers are worried about the domestic market situation," said Raffaella Carabelli, chairman of the Italy Textile Machinery Association (ACIMIT).

In the 3 quarter of 2014, the volume of orders for Italy textile machinery manufacturers increased compared with the previous quarter.

The economic data from ACIMIT's industry survey show a growth rate of 4%.

The 7-9 month order index is 89.8 points (based on the 2010 =100 point).

However, the growth of orders is limited to foreign markets.

In the third quarter, overseas orders grew by 9%, and the order index reached 99.4 points.

The domestic market is still stagnant, and the absolute value of the order index is only 38.8 points, down 22% from the previous quarter.

Speaking of economic data, Rafaella Carabelli emphasizes that the achievements gained in foreign markets prove that Italy enterprises will further enhance their competitiveness.

But this does not hide the industry's worries about the downward trend.

Machinery imports in the first half of this year dropped by 3% over the same period last year.

"This year will be positive.
