Clothing Prices In The UK Are &Nbsp High, Driving The Production Price Index Up.
Britain's factory price growth in July hit a three year high, mainly due to the price of clothing.
Clothing, textiles and leather prices rose by 5.2% annually, a record high since January, 97. The staff of the National Bureau of statistics explained that the price of wool rose, so that clothing, textile and leather prices were recorded.
The report points out that Britain is closely watching the uptrend in the production price index, which will push the consumer price index up if retailers shift the cost increase to consumers.
Britain's year-on-year inflation rate was 4.2% in June, down from 4.5% in May. The central bank said it expects this year's water and electricity bills to rise sharply.
