Seminar On Design Institutes



Brief introduction


It is the only full-time full-time institution of higher learning with the distinctive characteristics of running schools, which is the only one in China that has the following characteristics: clothing naming, arts and crafts, multi-disciplinary development of Arts, engineering, economics and management. The school was founded in 1959, originally under the Ministry of textile industry, and transferred to the market in 1998. In recent years, the school has adhered to the school running concept of "seeking innovation and learning for practical use", adhered to the characteristics of running schools, and established a clothing teaching system combining "art education with engineering education, management education, combining national costume culture with modern design concepts, combining theory teaching with practice teaching". There are more than 7000 students in the school, more than 800 teaching staff, and 5 two level colleges (clothing art and Engineering College, Art Design Institute, material science and Engineering College, business school, Information Engineering College), 2 departments (Foreign Languages Department, plastic arts department), 2 teaching departments (ideological and political theory teaching department, basic teaching department), 1 teaching centers (Computer Information Center), and international college, continuing education college and graduate student department. There are 21 undergraduate majors, 1 master level disciplines, 7 two level master's degree programs, 1 second bachelor's degree programs, and 4 double degree programs. There are 1 key cities to focus on the construction of first level disciplines (Textile Science and Engineering), 1 key cities to build a first level discipline, 3 key cities to build two disciplines and 4 municipal level scientific research institutions (the Key Laboratory of research and development and evaluation of clothing materials), the capital clothing culture and clothing industry research base, the garment market technology transfer center, the digital and interactive media laboratory. The national costume museum is one of the top ten museums in China.

Schools are actively serving economic and social development. Since 11th Five-Year, more than 1200 national, provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects have been undertaken, and more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial awards have been awarded. For three consecutive years (2004~2006), the project has won the two prize of national science and technology progress. Among them, the project of "development and industrialization of PA6/PE blended Sea Island microfiber and suede skin", which was hosted by our school, has reached the world's advanced level. The 2010 Asian Games awards ceremony costumes are originally designed by our school. In the 2004, 2005 and 2006 of the national science and Technology Development Center announced by the Ministry of education, the national universities won thirty-sixth, thirty-eighth, fortieth place in the statistical ranking of three national science and technology awards, the National Natural Science Award, the National Technological Invention Award and the national science and technology progress award.
      

The school persists in fostering all kinds of applied high-level professionals with solid theoretical foundation, wide knowledge, strong practical and innovative ability, and good physical and mental health. There are 171 kinds of awards, namely, the first prize in the university mathematics competition, the first prize in the English contest and the 49 prize in the international competition award. The art students won 656 awards in the international and domestic competitions, including the gold award of the international young designers' competition, the golden cup of the Chinese youth fashion design competition and the China international fashion design invitational tournament, the gold medal of the United Nations Educational, scientific and Cultural Organization "elegant China" costume design competition, the fifty-third World Miss third runner up, the first prize of Day Beers's China diamond design, the gold award of the "golden calf Award", the German IF international design competition, the concept design award, the CCTV model competition, the male model and the female model champion. In the past three years, non art students have won the silver award of the National Undergraduate entrepreneurship scheme competition and the special physics competition of the university students. Especially in the 2007 international diamond high level conference (HRD) diamond design Grand Prix, 44 entries from around the world were selected. 6 of the 8 entries from China came out of the list. In the past 50 years, schools have sent more than 3 graduates to the society. Many of them have become leaders in the textile and garment industry. In recent years, the employment rate of school graduates has been maintained at more than 90% per year. The quality tracking survey of graduates shows that employers have a high evaluation of graduates. In 2005, 2007 and 2008, the market was awarded the "merit Academy Award", "fashion capital construction Education Contribution Award" and "fashion fashion capital construction special contribution award" respectively. We should fully implement the party's educational policy, adhere to the spirit of motto of "rigorous, diligent, realistic and innovative", and strive to build into a "capital clothing industry talent training center, clothing science and technology research and development center, and clothing culture communication center".



The school of clothing art and engineering is a two level college under the name of the Department of clothing. It was originally founded in 1987, and was renamed as the school of clothing art and Engineering in 2004. The Institute closely adheres to the orientation and characteristics of the school running, adheres to the teaching concept of "creative integration technology and design heritage culture", and trains advanced applied talents with modern knowledge in the field of garment industry, solid foundation knowledge and practical ability, and coordinated development of innovation and scientific literacy. After years of development, the Institute has trained more than 3000 graduates and postgraduates. The college has a clothing training center. It holds a one-year training course for clothing design in spring, autumn and the two quarter, and has trained thousands of students for the society.
       

The Institute has three undergraduate specialties, including state-level specialty art design (clothing), market characteristics, professional fashion design, engineering and performance (fashion show), three master's degree in design art, fashion design and engineering, and textile materials and textile design. The Institute consists of three departments, namely, the Department of fashion art and design, the Department of fashion design and engineering, the fashion show and the fashion media department. It has a clothing technology laboratory, a knitted garment laboratory, a clothing material and Ergonomics Laboratory, a garment ergonomics laboratory and a clothing CAD laboratory, as well as a number of research centers, research institutes and design studios, which meet the needs of teaching and scientific research. At present, more than 1400 undergraduates and graduate students (including on-the-job postgraduates) have more than 200 undergraduates. The Institute has 92 faculty members, including 9 professors, 29 associate professors, 7 teachers with doctorate degrees, 6 Ph. D. teachers, 2 teaching masters, 1 outstanding teaching teams.

The Institute has highlighted the central position of teaching and adhered to teaching reform, thus forming a clear teaching system for clothing higher education adapting to the development of modern garment industry. In recent years, it has won the first prize of excellent teaching results in the city, and the professional training base for clothing and clothing outside the northern clothing has been identified as the training base outside the city. The clothing and clothing experimental teaching demonstration center has been identified as the experimental teaching demonstration center of the municipal level. It has built three municipal and municipal top quality courses, and published three state-level "fifteen" and "11th Five-Year" planning teaching materials, and four municipal and municipal top-quality teaching materials.
      


The Institute has attached importance to the improvement of the basic teaching facilities and conditions. In recent years, with the support of the school and the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of finance, it has invested about thirty million yuan to transform and build several laboratories, clothing CAD and multimedia classrooms. The Institute has not adjusted the target and plan of personnel training in an untimely manner, paying attention to the cultivation of students' innovative ability and practical ability in order to meet the needs of rapid development of the garment industry. Every year in March, China held an excellent conference of fashion design graduates during the China International Fashion week. In recent years, the Institute has undertaken over 100 kinds of scientific research projects, published and published a batch of textbooks, books and papers with high level. In particular, since 2004, it has undertaken the ceremonial costume design and on-site etiquette service of the world Formula One Grand Prix (F1). The 2008 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games uniforms, awarding ceremonial costumes, the Chinese sports team award dress design, and the design and development of boots and sleeping bags in the seven astronaut cabin have had a wide social impact.

The Institute adheres to open education, and has extensive exchanges and cooperation with relevant institutions in Japan, France, Canada, Canada, Korea and other countries and regions. It has sent many teachers to go abroad to study and study. The Institute has extensive cooperation with the garment industry and enterprises in scientific research and personnel training, and has established a clothing Institute of human engineering, a traditional clothing Research Institute, and has several garment design and brand planning workshops, providing a large number of consulting and product planning services for enterprises every year. The Institute adheres to the combination of theoretical teaching and practical teaching. It has established a teaching practice base with the more than 40 famous clothing enterprises, including the group, the United States and the United States, and the like to meet the needs of students' internship.



The faculty and students have participated in various international and domestic clothing competitions, and have achieved excellent results. Since 2000, the faculty and students have won more than 300 major international competitions. With the change of garment industry and market, the Institute is actively exploring new training and teaching methods to better serve the society and deliver more excellent professionals to the garment industry.
