The exemption of import tariffs from Afghanistan, as part of the duty-free tariff preference (DFTP) scheme, is an economic policy for the underdeveloped countries.
According to the notice issued by the Ministry of finance of India, most of the products from Afghanistan can be obtained.

The duty-free tariff preference scheme was launched in 2008 by the Prime Minister of Manmohan Singer.
The aim is to give preferential tariffs to 92.5% of Afghanistan's products.
Under the plan, zero tariff entry has been provided to 85% of India's exports to India in the total tariff details.
The plan will be implemented for 5 years, and the tariff will be divided into five equal stages. The existing tariff will be reduced by 20% at each stage and eventually reduced to zero.
