The standard working group (GOTS IWG) released the 3 version of the working group's organic fiber processing standard in March 2nd.
The amendment includes prohibition.
Garment processing
Methods harmful workers' health (such as cowboy clothing sandblasting treatment) requires that the polyester from the global organic textile standard certification product will come from recycled materials after consumption in 2014, allowing polypropylene to be used as a "other".
Fiber material

In addition, the ban on all post-processing of chemical fiber fabrics has been lifted. Therefore, most fabric processing is permitted now, but they must meet strict global standard of organic textile toxicity.
The 3 version also sets down the goal of reducing water and energy consumption and testing whether social ethics management plans are in place to ensure minimum social standards.
All companies wishing to become global organic textile standard certification must comply with the 3 version from March 1, 2012.
