Crude Oil Prices Rebound Methanol Down
Last week, international oil prices showed a substantial increase. In mid week, the US oil price rebounded and the supply of gasoline declined, and oil prices closed at $45.22 / barrel on Thursday, while Friday was affected by the US's fourth quarter economic downturn exceeding expectations. Oil prices fell to $44.76 / barrel, up 14.9% compared with the previous week. International natural gas futures prices also rose compared with the previous week, and they closed at 4.198 /MMBtu on Friday.
Last week, the price of bisphenol A decreased, because the price of phenol and acetone in its upstream raw materials became stable, and downstream demand did not increase effectively. By Friday, the price of bisphenol A in East China was about 7300 yuan / ton. PTA also continued to go down because of the rising PX operation rate and insufficient downstream demand, and the price of PTA in eastern China was around 6200 yuan / ton on Friday.
Methanol prices fell sharply due to the downturn in the purchasing intention of the downstream market. The market sentiment is more serious now. By Friday, the price of methanol in Shandong is about 1850 yuan / ton.
Propylene prices stabilized after falling for a long time. In the early days, due to the high price of propylene, the downstream enterprises stopped production. After propylene price adjustment, the market improved. At present, propylene prices in the East China market are around 6500 yuan / ton.
Last week, the price of raw salt in China increased significantly, and the improvement of downstream operation rate became a favorable support for price rise. At present, the price quotation of high quality raw salt has been around 180 yuan / ton. The price of soda ash in Shandong area has also increased significantly. At present, the actual price of heavy soda is over 1200 yuan.
With the closing of the dry season and the gradual opening of the yellow phosphorus plant, the price of yellow phosphorus began to decline gradually. On Friday, the price of yellow phosphorus in Yunnan area slipped again by 100 yuan / ton to 12500 yuan / ton. The price of phosphoric acid in eastern China also began to drop, and the price fell 200 yuan / ton to 3700 yuan / ton on Friday.
In terms of polyurethane, prices of various products continued to be stable, and prices of rigid polyether polyols continued to rise, driven by rising prices of raw materials, rising to 8200 yuan / ton last week, but the downstream demand did not increase effectively. PTMEG prices fell last week to 24000 yuan / ton on Friday.
Last week, the domestic urea market remained active. In the southwest and northwest regions, the installation rate of the plant was insufficient, the urea price remained at a high level, while the urea price in Hebei, Henan continued to decline slightly. The urea price in the Jiangsu area remained at the level of 1780 yuan / ton; the domestic DAP market remained stable and the market responded well; the wholesale price in Jiangsu area maintained 3300 yuan, and the actual paction price was around 2900 yuan / ton. It is reported that the US Phoschem is preparing to raise the price of DAOFob in March to 370 US dollars / ton, which is 5-10 US dollars / ton higher than the current price, and the domestic potash market is still stable.
